I believe in Miss BC's positive message, that true beauty is confidence, compassion, dedication to social issues and an unshakable commitment to personal beliefs. As strong, independent and capable women, we can make a difference as long as we have passion and perseverance.
I have been privileged to travel to over 30 countries including Haiti, Zimbabwe and China. I witnessed firsthand the shocking healthcare conditions in third world countries and denial of basic human dignities. With these haunting impressions and the belief that quality treatment is a universal right, I have dreamt of becoming a dermatologist since childhood. I hope to one day establish hospitals in China and Botswana and work with Doctors Without Borders.
My interests include ice hockey, piano, saxophone, and clarinet, reading and cooking. I love trying new things such as shark cage diving and bungee jumping, and challenging my physical and mental limitations. Some amazing opportunities I have experienced include medical research at St. Paul's Hospital and translating at volunteer Hepatitis B clinics.
"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference." A life without dreams, passion and action is no life at all. True happiness can only be achieved by always being the "best you" possible.
