I made a decision to participate in Miss BC for many reasons; my sole decision to participate is for the recognition of inner beauty. I respect the organization’s values, beliefs and professionalism. The pageant involves many growth and development opportunities within the training process. My experience was incredible. It allowed me to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone. I was extremely nervous because it was my first pageant ever. However, they made us feel comfortable and supported us through the entire process. We became one big family. It was a fun learning experience!

My year as Miss Charity BC was incredible. The Miss BC Pageant gave me an opportunity to give back to my community. When I had organized my very first fundraiser, I had fundraised the most amount of money for Cops for Cancer which led me to winning this title. This experience and this title encouraged me to do even more and to continue to give back to my community. I continued to donate, host and support charitable events. I had the pleasure of volunteering with the Make a Wish foundation and Canadian Cancer Society. I also gave motivational talks at leadership conferences and mentored youth. This pageant encouraged me to participate in other pageants.

I am the reigning Miss India Canada 2016-17, completing a degree in Human Resource Management and pursuing my modelling and acting. I am also a pageant/modelling coach and a talk show host on JoyTV.

Pageants are a time of self-discovery. This experience taught me to challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone. I realized I had so much potential and I was capable of doing many things. I was able to share my story and my purpose. I was able to inspire women around me and be a role model. This experience made me more confident about myself and gave me the courage to pursue my dreams in the entertainment industry.

I would recommend anyone to apply for this pageant. It is a great way to build your confidence and self-esteem, challenge yourself and create change in your community. Regardless of receiving a title or not, it is a great learning experience that will help you grow as an individual. Lastly, the organization itself is an absolute pleasure to be part of.

To all future contestants, have fun, stay confident and believe in yourself. You all are already winners!
