I was crowned Miss Fraser Valley in 2013. That July long weekend was one of the best and I look forward to it every year.
One of my favorite events was at Surrey Memorial Hospital, where we were volunteering with the Friends of Ferrari and the Surrey Memorial Foundation; it was right before the new Critical Care tower had opened. There was a group of kids that got to race in these mini Ferraris around the track, and we helped them in and out of the cars and even though it was pouring rain, it was so much fun. Another fun event was Halloween at the Ronald Mcdonald House in Vancouver; we got dressed up for the kids and got to spend some time with them. From my time with the Miss BC pageant I have learned that even the smallest act of kindness can brighten someone’s day
I got married two weeks before handing over my crown in 2014. I am currently living in Langley with my husband Ryan and our two year old yellow lab Timber. We absolutely love Langley with all the great places we can go with our dog. Our favorite is the Fort-to-Fort trail in Fort Langley. I am still working at Surrey Memorial Hospital and this summer will be my seventh year there. I am currently working on starting my own business making custom baby onesies. Also I am working with a few of the previous title holders on the Junior Miss BC pageant which starts this year on Friday June 30th.
I would recommend this pageant to anyone, it’s not just a pageant, it’s a family event. If you do not win a title you will gain so many positive experiences and friendships. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and even new things about yourself. You will leave this pageant with a sense of fullness.
